[Draft] Preliminary environmental and social impact assessment: Project investment on agro-industrial plantation (rubber)

Tan Bien Kampong Thom Aphivath Caoutchouc co., ltd issued an environmental and social impact assessment in purpose of assuring sustainability of rubber plantation. The aims of this report include assessment of plant and animal ecology, assessment of social and economic condition of local community, identification of negative social and environmental impact emerged from the plantation and the determination of measures for mitigating those impacts.

The company made an assessment on the social impacts regarding several factors such as social resource, health and safety impact, regional and cumulative effects. Along with these assessment, the company has pointed out measures for the mitigation.

Environmental fund summary

The budget allocated for environmental management planning implementation for a period of 9 years require 3,081,500 USD. This budget is for: (1) infrastructure construction, (2) buffer zone management, (3) contribution fund for development of community and environmental restoration, and (4) investigation and assessment implementation.
