The status and distribution of freshwater biodiversity in Indo-Burma

A comprehensive assessment of species diversity within the inland waters of Indo-Burma. The authors aim to present current information on the distribution and extinction risk of freshwater species, and where appropriate, the reasons behind their declining status. The researchers assess the status and distribution of all described species of freshwater fishes, molluscs, odonates, crabs, and selected families of aquatic plants. A total of 2,515 species were assessed and documented. Containing species information for 1,082 individual river or lake subcatchments, at time of writing this volume represented the most comprehensive assessment of freshwater biodiversity at the species level for this part of the world.
