Water management and impact assessment in the Mekong Basin: analyzing the linkages between local, national and regional levels

An article about water management and impact assessment in the Mekong Basin. The article first looks at the different impact assessment processes in the basin and discusses the challenges related to them. Based on these existing challenges, it is argued that in this kind of dynamic and complex setting, there is a need to shift from pre-defined, top-down impact assessment approaches, towards a more flexible approach combining assessments from local level up to the regional level and applying truly interdisciplinary approaches.
