‘Tips and tricks’ of participatory land-use planning in Lao PDR.

This paper shows how visualization and learning tools can help translating participatory principles into reality by truly empowering the locals in designing future land-use plans and by acting as catalysts of negotiation. Our action- research approach attempts to move beyond the ‘dos and don’ts’ or ‘PLUP recipes’ to propose an integrative communication platform combining local and scientific knowledge
