Report on political irregularities: Misuse of state resources and political corruption (2015)

This report is based on a collection and aggregation of the information from print and online newspapers and COMFREL's nationwide observer network in 24 provinces of the total 26 capital and provinces; out of these provinces, Phnom Penh, Kandal and Preah Vihear were found to have a higher rate of abuse of state resources compared to other parts of the country. From January to December 2015, it was found that there were 297 cases related to misuse of state resources and political corruption, of which 133 recorded cases related to misuse of state resources with the aim of benefiting a political party. Most of the total recorded cases were reported to be committed by civil servants.
