The Language of Leadership in Laos 2014

The main purpose of this paper is to explore the relationship between the language of leadership and leadership enactments in thenon-Anglophone contextof Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR). As such it seeks t o respond to the growing calls for studies of leadership in non-Western contexts (Turnbull et al., 2011) and the adoption of anthropological theory and method in order to enhance understanding ofthe subtleties of leadership relations in situated social contexts .
