Community based natural resource management became increasingly important in Laos during the 1990s. The Land and Forest Allocation (LFA) is a landmark reform in natural resource management that was developed during the early 1990s. It delineates clear village boundary and classifies village forest and land resources. The process was first recognised as the Baeng Din Baeng Paa (Land and Forest Classification)
