Illegal logging and related trade the response in Lao PDR

បោះពុម្ពផ្សាយដោយ៖ Village Focus International

Illegal logging is a global problem that is both a result of and a contributing factor to poor forest governance. It undermines efforts to manage forests sustainable and equitably, resulting in deforestation, social conflict and the loss of government revenues. This is not just an issue for forest-rich countries; countries that import and consume wood-based products1 from countries with high levels of illegal logging contribute to the problem if they import products without ensuring that they are legally sourced
