This study aims to formulate a strategic policy framework in Laos to promote and develop renewable energy resources to improve rural living conditions and reduce poverty without endangering food security. The study provides insights on how to overcome challenges in developing renewable alternative sources of energy to help power the country’s economic growth. The authors argue that the country can capitalize on its favorable climate and vast land and labor to begin a national strategy for renewable energy.
