This study takes a cross-border and comparative perspective in examining Luang Namtha’s rubber boom, focusing on stakeholder relationships (between villagers, governments, and investors), investment typology, and the transnational market chain. The study makes specific recommendations in the areas of contract farming, land and forestry management, and marketing.
