Myanmar Human Rights Analysis of Biometric Digital ID Systems

This paper is the analyzing of human right issue related to a biometrics-based digital ID system that Myanmar might use. Digital ID systems are systems which assign individuals a single “digital ID” which is used to authenticate an individual’s identity and generally stored in a central database. This paper consists four parts which are human rights standards, the legal framework in Myanmar national digital ID system, a comparative assessment of digital ID systems in India, Kenya and Jamaica and finally this paper remains with some recommendations for Myanmar.
