Global Forest Resources Assessment 2015: how are the world's forests changing? [2016]

Sustainably managed forests provide essential goods and services and thus play a vital part in sustainable development. Reliable and up-to-date information on the state of forest resources is crucial to support decision-making for investment and policymaking in forestry and sustainable development.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), at the request of its member countries, regularly monitors the world´s forests and their management and uses through the Global Forest Resources Assessment (FRA).
