Cambodia climate expenditure review 2023

In 2023, climate change expenditure remains at 2.1% of GDP, about the same level as in 2022 and KHR 2,769 billion, reflecting the increase in the construction of water infrastructures against floods and droughts, national roads, energy, and agriculture interventions, as well as the continued social protection cash distribution to the poor and vulnerable, which amounted to KHR 1,872.4 billion, offsetting the decline in spending on rural roads and health in 2023. The domestically financed climate change expenditure accounts for 48% of total climate spending.
