In this regard to solve the internal and external challenges that are structured in the textile and apparel industry area, the Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to prepare and implement the "Cambodia industry transformation map for the textile and apparel industry 2023-2027 for the purpose of industrial transformation making Cambodia's textiles and garments more competitive and add value to the value chain, technology, expertise, and entrepreneurship through the introduction of sharp and specific measures to support the implementation of the "Development Strategy for the garment, footwear, and bag production of Cambodia 2022-2027 which was introduced by the Royal Government on March 21, 2022. To achieve the above objectives, this revolutionary map sets out four strategic levers, namely: 1- Mixing of products and international trade, 2- Skills and technologies, 3- Sustainability and innovation, and 4- Infrastructure and governance. In addition, this emphasized revolutionary map has been prepared in accordance with international practice, and in promoting the priority areas will be oriented and received input from competent ministries, institutions, and development partners, research training institutions and the private sector. In addition, although the time frame for implementation is set to 2027, it is true, that this evolutionary map is considered a living document that is operational in nature and may eventually be revised by the Royal Government to ensure consistency, realism, and practical evolution.
