Description

This arbitral award is issued by the Arbitrator Council on the issue between Violet Apparel (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. (employer) and the ​Workers' representatives in resolving collective labor disputes of Violet Apparel (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. (employee). 1) the employer pays compensation to laid off workers; 2) the employer prioritises former workers for employment when the factory reopens; 3) the employer provides 50% of wages for three months of pregnancy (months 4 to 7) to women; 4) the employer returns workers’ cards; 5) Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT) provides suspension support of two months of wages to workers; and 6) the employer offers five paid working days during the Khmer New Year holiday.​ The outcome of the arbitral award was that The first and last demands were rejected and both parties agreed to withdraw the others.
