On June 28, 2016, the Cabinet approved the principle of the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Project (B.E. 2560-2564), targeted Chachoengsao, Chonburi and Rayong provinces, which are major industrial production bases and equipped with fundamental infrastructures in Thailand. The objective is to support the upgrading of the country's competitiveness, promote economic growth, increase employment, and improve the quality of life, and household income.
