Public transportation

"This dataset contains a number of bus stops along with three different lines of the public service bus operated and provided by Phnom Penh Capital Hall’s City Bus. The first operation of city bus was temporarily provided in September 2014, and the official operation was launched on 30 October 2015. The bus fare is 1,500 riels per person, except for disabled, elderly, monks and schoolchildren who get free accessing. The dataset was collected from various sources such as the Newsletter and Public Announcement of Phnom Penh Capital Hall, Open Street Map, and NGOs in shapefile, pdf and jpeg formats and then ODC's mapping group used them as reference document and data to create a common shapefile for public transportation using digitizing method. The Geographic data is encoded in the WGS 84, Zone 48 North coordinate reference system."

Completeness ODC's mapping team collected only 857 from both Open Street Map and map pictures from the newsletter. The map pictures cannot be used to do geo-reference due to its inconsistence and different format so the team decided to use bus stop points from Open Street Map and verified their numbers and names with the bus line maps from the newsletter.
Process Step The public transport datasets were divided into two categories: spatial data identifying geographical locations and its attribute tables for storing spatial information. ODC mapping team tried to develop common public transport spatial datasets by using both existing shapefiles-bus stops, and bus lines-from Open Street Map and Phnom Penh Capital City's Newsletter and the Public Announcement. The attribute tables were created basing on information available from the newsletter, announcement, JICA brochure and Open Street Map.
Lineage Open Street Map, the Phnom Penh Capital Hall's bulletin and Public Announcement, and JICA brochures.
