Name Right to Information in Asia Pacific: How 11 countries perform on SDG 16.10
Description

This report provides a general assessment of the right to information laws of these countries, compares the quality of their most important features and evaluates nine key areas of these laws in each country. The report also provides a brief overview on how these laws are being implemented in practice. Only the legal provisions are scored, but not the practice. Furthermore, this report provides recommendations to governments to ensure the right to information and its effective enforcement. A brief overview of freedom of the media in the assessed countries complements the evaluation of freedom of information.
